For many families in Los Angeles, taking a socially-distanced stroll around the neighborhood has been a major activity over the past few months, a type of recreation that feels essential for our mental and physical health.
Los Angeles is a city of many Spanish speakers, and it’s easy to see the advantages of being bilingual. Some parents want to introduce their children to speaking Spanish or another language at a young age.
Los Angeles is saturated with sunshine something close to 300 days a year with an equally impressive number of hiking trails from Malibu Creek State Park to Burbank’s Wildwood Canyon.
Erin Entrada Kelly, the author of the Newbery Award-winning book Hello Universe, spoke at the Central Library a few months ago as part of our Summer Author Series. Audience members wrote questions for Kelly on index cards.
July 17 is the 63 anniversary of Disneyland's opening day. This Disney loving librarian is planning on celebrating and won't be the only one either; it will probably be super crowded, and there will be lots of other pass holders eager to commemorate the day.
