Need one-on-one personal reference assistance? Whether you need help downloading an e-book, help with finding business, government, or medical information, or would like an in-depth demonstration of how to use the library's databases, we are here to help you.
The LAPL Central Library is pleased to provide a Book a Librarian service to its patrons. The Book a Librarian service allows you to reserve a free half-hour session with a reference librarian/subject specialist at Central Library.
In order to receive the best possible service, we highly recommend having a Los Angeles Public Library card. Get a library card.
Terms of service:
- A librarian will contact you within 2 business days to set up an appointment.
- You may be contacted by phone or e-mail for more information prior to setting up an appointment, and to determine whether an appointment is the best option for you. For quick e-mail/phone reference questions, please use our Ask a Librarian service.
- Please note that this is not a research service. It is a reference service designed to guide you and help you make the most of our collections.
