Description:
Life of Pi (2012, rated PG), Ang Lee’s interspecies survival epic based on Yann Martel’s 2001 novel, was an unprecedented CGI-enhanced achievement when it came out and is still a marvel. After deciding to sell their zoo in India and move to Canada, the Patels board a freighter with their sons and a few remaining animals. Tragedy strikes when a storm sinks the ship, leaving the Patels' teenage son Pi the only human survivor. But Pi is not alone; a fearsome Bengal tiger has also found refuge aboard the lifeboat. Adrift on the Pacific as the days and weeks drag on, Pi and the tiger must learn to trust each other if both are to survive.
