national library week
This week is National Library Week! Although our library buildings are closed, you can still find your place at the library, because we’re always open online, with access to e-media, digital resources, virtual programming and more from home with your library card.
Today is National Bookmobile Day, a day to celebrate the contributions bookmobiles make to their communities. From 1949 to 2004, Los Angeles Public Library’s bookmobiles made a significant impact in the community by visiting lots of neighborhood schools, parks, and housing developments around the city.
We had a blast during National Library Week! To celebrate we asked staff to tell us about a time they transformed a patron's life. These are great stories and they show how libraries meet the needs of the community.
