On the night of June 18, 1928, a murder occurred at a quiet country home at 12744 Ventura Blvd. in what is now Studio City. Neighbors reported the sound of clicking heels escaping from the scene. Gumshoe work by Los Angeles police led to a conviction eight years later in a tale worthy of Perry Mason. Historian Mary Mallory cracks the case of deception and deceit in Studio City.
