Description:

Since saving New York City from destruction, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), is now more dependent than ever on the tech-heavy suits that give him his Iron Man powers; worry and insomnia have begun to affect his relationship with Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow). When a malevolent enemy known as the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) begins hunting Tony down and reducing his properties to rubble, Tony narrowly escapes with just one experimental prototype Iron Man suit, and must now rely on instinct and ingenuity to avenge his losses and protect the people he loves. Director Shane Black has famously set several of his previous action thrillers at Christmastime (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), and this one carries on the tradition; it’s a Christmas Carol-esque reckoning with a dark night of the soul, ending on a snowy finale with presents around the tree. Marvellously charming leading man Downey, impressive action sequences and even a couple of quirky surprises make Iron Man 3 (2013, rated PG-13) a heartfelt blockbuster that tackles the question: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
