Description:

Writers between the ages of 10 and 22 are invited to participate in our Young Adult Fanfiction Competition. Join us in celebrating creativity, passion, and love for all things fandom! Selected winners will have their work published in the inaugural LAPL fanfiction zine, which will be added to the Library's zine collection. Each participant will receive a free personal copy of the zine. To view the full entry guidelines and submit your entry, please use our entry form. Entries will open on November 1, 2025; the submission deadline is November 30, 2025.

Join a “Friends” group. There is a “Friends of the Library” group for most branch libraries and departments of the Central Library. Friends groups raise money for improvements to their library through memberships, used book sales and other activities. For more information click here or talk to your local librarian.

Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs.
