Description:
Have you ever wanted to be an author, but didn’t know how to get started?
Learn how to create a do-it-yourself eight page zine that you can mass-produce with a copy machine! Working with original and appropriated images and/or text, you can share ideas, inspire others, engage your creative self, and make connections.
Zine topics include poetry, cartoons, short stories, top 10 lists, and how-to guides. At the end of this workshop, Darrell will show participants how to submit a copy of their zine to the Los Angeles Public Library’s Zine Collection. This means that your published work will be available for checkout at the library!
Artist and Author Darrell Fusaro has worked as a model builder creating special effects for the motion picture industry, and was a producer of the Emmy-nominated Local Edition on CNN. His latest self-illustrated zine was released as a book, Step out Boldly: The Hidden Meaning of the Statue of Liberty and became a #1 New Release on Amazon. His other self-illustrated books include What If Godzilla Just Wanted a Hug? Leading with the Heart Instead of the Chin, and Break Out of Your Box: Be Your Heroic Self.
