Description:
Celebrate Women’s History Month and join us for East West Players Theatre for Youth performance of Patsy by Alison Minami, directed by John Miyasaki.
Kailani is an 18-year-old senior at Maui High School and a star athlete. While anxiously waiting to find out if she's been accepted into her dream school, Patsy Mink, the first Asian-American congresswoman and former valedictorian of Maui High School, appears before her. As Patsy Mink walks Kailani through the many trials and tribulations she faced throughout her political career and life, Kailani begins to realize that no matter how many setbacks she encounters during her journey, she can succeed if she picks herself back up and perseveres.
This program is sponsored by the Dwight Stuart Youth Fund, California Arts Council, L.L. Foundation for Youth, The Green Foundation, and the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
