Description:

Spike Lee’s most warmhearted and autobiographical film, Crooklyn (1994, rated PG-13) was written in collaboration with his siblings as a fictionalized portrait of their shared childhood in the summer of 1973. Schoolteacher and family matriarch Carolyn (Alfre Woodard) and her struggling jazz musician husband Woody (Delroy Lindo) work hard to pay the bills and raise their kids, including spunky nine year-old Troy (Zelda Harris). Troy must hold her own against her four rowdy brothers and confront issues of life and loss against a backdrop of summertime street life. Powered by a stellar soul soundtrack featuring the Stylistics, Sly & the Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield, the J.B.'s and more.

Join us at Edendale every Tuesday afternoon in July for HOT!!! Summer movies.
