Description:
Hapa zome, meaning "leaf dye" in Japanese, is a printmaking technique that uses natural pigments from leaves and flowers by gently pounding them into fabric or paper to create vibrant imprints. Join us to learn more about this process and design your own prints. All ages welcome!
Participants are encouraged to bring items of their own to print on and give new life to well-loved clothing and accessories (e.g., shirts, scarves, tote bags, pillow cases, etc.). For best results, light-colored cotton, linen, and silk without patterns are recommended. Some plain fabric will be available while supplies last as well as paper to make spring inspired art prints or greeting cards, if preferred. All other supplies will be provided.
