Description:

Join LA Compost and the library for an exciting workshop designed to teach youth how to reduce waste and care for the environment through composting! This hands-on workshop will introduce teens to the basics of composting, show how it can help create nutrient-rich soil, and provide tips on how to get started at home or in the community.

In this workshop, participants will learn:

  • The Basics of Composting: What composting is and why it's important for the environment
  • How to Start Composting: Easy steps to begin composting at home, school, or community gardens
  • What to Compost: What materials can be composted and how to balance ingredients for healthy, effective compost
  • The Benefits of Composting: Understanding how composting reduces waste, nourishes the soil, and helps fight climate change

This workshop is open to all youth ages 8 -18 interested in learning about sustainability, gardening, and eco-friendly practices. Get ready to roll up your sleeves, make a difference, and learn new skills that benefit both you and the planet!
