Description:
Join us on the second and fourth Saturday of each month for a fun and inspiring art program.
Did you know that many cheap, fast fashion and novelty t-shirts sold in the U.S. end up in massive textile waste piles in countries like Ghana? Instead of donating your old shirts, where they often end up as trash overseas, bring them to the library and learn how to give them a second life.
We’ll cut t-shirts into strips and weave them into fabric sheets. You can then transform these sheets into bags, pillows, or beautiful works of art.
This program is designed for older children ages 7–12.
For ADA accommodations, call (213) 228-7430 at least 72 hours prior to the event.
