Calling all adults! You are invited to join us for an hour of captivating storytelling and engaging conversation. Martha Stevens is an award-winning storyteller with 35 years of experience sharing traditional stories from diverse cultures at schools, universities, libraries, museums, conferences, and even prisons worldwide. She passionately states, “I love stories. They help me get through life because they reveal what it means to be human.” Martha's storytelling encompasses themes of love, jealousy, hope, war, misunderstanding, and forgiveness. Her narratives often inspire connections to other stories from different cultures, personal memories, or experiences, all aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of how stories unite us.

Join a “Friends” group. There is a “Friends of the Library” group for most branch libraries and departments of the Central Library. Friends groups raise money for improvements to their library through memberships, used book sales and other activities. For more information click here or talk to your local librarian.

Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs.
