Description:
Sound Bath Meditation for Teens, Teen Volunteers, and Teen Council Members (ages 11-18 only).
Sound bathing is a form of meditation, a massage for your brain, using crystal bowls, drums, elemental chimes, and other modalities. Sound frequency transmutes and relaxes the subconscious, to lighten our psyche. After a sound bath, you can expect to leave feeling lighter, more at ease, and deeply connected to the world around you. This vibrational healing technique is especially beneficial when we realize everything is vibration. So when we begin to heal ourselves at a vibrational level, we are healing ourselves at the most basic root of existence.
Attendees will learn the benefits of sound healing, an easy form of meditation with a long history and proven scientific results. Sound baths have been proven to lower blood pressure, reduce stress and anxiety, slow the heart rate, and lower cortisol levels to the equivalent of a night's rest. Attendees will also learn the tools of manifestation and how to use sound every day to help them heal.
Please join us in comfortable clothing. Bringing a yoga mat to sit or lie on is optional. You may also sit at a desk or on the floor, whatever is most comfortable.
This program earns June Teen Council Credit, and TC convenes briefly after Sound Bath.
This program was made possible with the generous support of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.
