Description:
Imagine that it's 1926. You've read the glowing newspaper articles describing the architectural beauty of downtown’s new Central Library. The Los Angeles Evening Express even likened it to a “great edifice of the mystic East” so you've decided to make a day of visiting its charming park-like grounds and exploring the city around it.
Join us for a jaunt through late 1920s downtown Los Angeles via postcards! In honor of Central Library’s centennial celebration, vintage postcards, restaurant menus, and newspaper advertisements will take us on a virtual tour of locales that were once within a ten-minute walk of the library. We will discover how visitors in 1926 might have spent their day after a visit to the Central Library.
