Fifth Friday is a group of musicians who also dance. They have been playing for dancers for more than 20 years. 



Their selections for this performance are a study in contrasts, illustrating the music of Russia and Hungary. Whereas Russian folk music has its roots in the Russian Orthodox church, Hungarian folk music reflects the country’s centuries of influence under the Ottoman Turks. 

They’ll include a variety of tunes from the Hungarian regions of Transylvania and Slovakia, as well as music highlighting the influence of Romani traditions.
