Presenter Arnold Weiss will discuss the life and times of James P. Beckwourth, who was a larger-than-life African American mountain man, explorer, fur trapper and scout who lived among the Crow Indians. He was an influential frontiersman in the 1800’s who explored the western U.S. and discovered the Beckwourth Pass through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Come hear about the exciting exploits of this African American pioneer!
