In Twisters (2024, rated PG-13), the sequel to the 1996 thriller Twister, the tornadoes are bigger and badder than ever. Kate is a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating tornado encounter from her past, who now studies weather patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend Javi to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There she crosses paths with Tyler, a charming and reckless cowboy who films his storm-chasing adventures for his legion of followers on social media, the more nerve-wracking the better. As tornado season intensifies, climate-change fueled mega-storms are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple twister armies converging on central Oklahoma.
