Description:
Join us for an informative talk on the basics of Ayres Sensory Integration®, a therapeutic approach that helps us understand how children process sensory information and how it relates to their everyday lives. Sensory integration is foundational for learning and development. This session will include introduction of the senses that support sensory motor skills. Caregivers will also learn how to identify and seek out qualified professionals with expertise in Ayres Sensory Integration, ensuring that children receive the right support to thrive.
Presenter Bio: AnjaLi Carrasco Koester, OTD, OTR/L is a Director and Pediatric Occupational Therapist at Center for Developing Kids in Pasadena, CA. She has significant experience working with children with a variety of diagnoses including Autism, hearing loss, Tourette's Syndrome, and learning disabilities. AnjaLi enjoys teaching professionals to use the Ayres Sensory Integration approach in their work both domestically and internationally and is motivated to disseminate resources and research findings on best practices. Additionally AnjaLi is passionate about collaborating to provide identity affirming and inclusive services.
