Come be a part of the end of Summer Reading Challenge 2024 community drum circle. Roberto "Konga Kid" Gutierrez will demonstrate the basic patterns of drumming and guide participants in a lively jam session. He will discuss the history of West African and Cuban drums like the djembe, ashiko, the conga and other percussion instruments.
No experience, musical talent, or instrument is required to participate in the drum circle. Participants can choose from the large selection of instruments available or bring your own personal instrument to play. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join in the hour-and-a-half-interactive drum circle.
