Description:

In this introductory lesson, participants will get hands-on experience with our sewing machines and learn the basics needed to begin their own projects! These include, but are not limited to: winding bobbins, threading the upper thread, using the free-arm style to sew tubular materials with straight and zigzag stitches, and using the foot controller.

Please note this lesson will not cover sewing patterns.

The Octavia Lab is a do-it-yourself maker space located inside the Los Angeles Public Library's historic Central Library.
