George R. Wolfe, author of Into the River of Angels, is an award-winning journalist, novelist and satirist. He’s the founder of California’s satire site, The LaLa Times, dubbed “The Onion for L.A.”
He’s also a tireless activist and the founder of the nonprofit LA River Expeditions, a groundbreaking advocacy group for our nation’s endangered rivers. His environmental work has been featured in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, PBS, and the BBC; also in the magazines Outdoors, Men’s Journal and Time. His river antics are featured in the documentary Rock the Boat: Saving America’s Wildest River directed by Thea Mercouffer. He's the winner of three conservation awards: River Warrior, River Hero and Green Paddle. He and his nonprofit are largely responsible for opening up the L.A. River to the public for kayaking tours.
Into the River of Angels is Wolfe’s second novel: an urban adventure that flows from his visionary work on the L.A. River. He lives in West L.A.
