Cecilia Rasmussen's Curbside L.A.: An Offbeat Guide to the City of Angels From the Pages of the Los Angeles Times (1996) offers an overview of eclectic places and eccentric experiences across Los Angeles County. I guarantee you'll learn something you never knew about Los Angeles by reading it!

The entries of Ms. Rasmussen's book also offers a years' worth of local road trips. Thankfully the book also serves as a document of places that are no longer standing or businesses that are no longer in operation. It is a great book to get us started on a new year!

The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs.
