Join us for a Know Your Rights presentation for the immigrant community covering topics such as humanitarian immigration relief, immigration court procedures, and your Constitutional rights in the United States of America. This presentation will include important information about avoiding immigration fraud and will cover recent policy changes, how to protect your community, and how to stay safe. 
 
Presenters:

Melissa G. Shepard is the Director of Legal Services for ImmDef’s Cross-Border Initiative and Welcoming Project. ImmDef is one of the largest nonprofit organizations providing legal representation to marginalized immigrant communities in California. Melissa is the daughter of immigrants, which fuels her passion for immigration law and her dedication to her clients. Melissa has worked in the field of immigration law for over a decade.

Vallerie Aguilar Quintanilla is a Program Associate on the Welcoming Project at Immigrant Defenders Law Center where she provides pro-se assistance and resources to our immigrant community. After obtaining her Political Science and Chicano/Latino studies degree from UC Irvine, she now dedicates herself to empowering all immigrants through educating them on their civil rights under the U.S. constitution.
 
Daniel Sharp has served as Chief of the Los Angeles County Office of Immigrant Affairs (OIA) since February 2020. In this role, he works to ensure that OIA protects the rights and advances the well-being of immigrants who have made Los Angeles County their home.
