Description:

Few things are as fun as getting your hands dirty, especially when the results are clay and compost seed bombs filled with California native wildflower seeds. In this talk-and-do workshop, teens will learn about the origin of "seed green aids" and other green movements, past and present, and will be encouraged to talk about their own ideas about sustainability and climate change. All materials are provided, and teens take home a bag full of seed bombs with instructions on how and when to successfully launch them. Limit: 15 participants.

The audience will:

  • Learn about the many sustainability movements and trends from the past and those going on today
  • Learn about climate change solutions and have the opportunity to voice their own opinions and share ideas with others
  • Learn about California wildflowers, the important difference between natives and invasive plants in relation to sustainability
  • Make their own seed bombs that they can take home to launch on their own wherever they choose
