Description:
In honor of this year's Native American Heritage Month, historian John P. Schmal will discuss techniques and resources available for researching your California Native American roots. These will include Mission Records, the California Early Population Project, land records, court records, Spanish land grants, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and National Archives (NARA) Collections. The Santa Barbara Mission Archives will also be discussed as the best resource for research that needs to be done at multiple missions.
