Description:
Join Fashion Designer and Octavia Lab Member Scott Williams as he discusses the process of creating pieces for the upcoming collection, "General Public," using the Octavia Lab resources, including the sewing machines and the illustration station.
Scott's SAW USA is an emerging brand that stands out for its unique blend of high fashion and streetwear. The brand's avant-garde approach to traditional streetwear items, coupled with a focus on high fashion elements like silhouette, fit, and novelty, creates a style that is both culturally relatable and exclusive.
Scott was a full-time costume designer for Film and TV. During that time, he worked directly underneath Oscar award winner Aggie Guerard Rodgers, who is most acclaimed for her work on Star Wars VI—Return to the Jedi and the Color Purple. Scott was a Set Costumer from 2014 to 2018. In 2018, he became the head Costume Designer for the film The Last Black Man in San Francisco.
The Octavia Lab is a do-it-yourself maker space located inside the Los Angeles Public Library's historic Central Library.
