Description:

Join us for "Tam Tran Goes to Washington," an East West Players production that promotes cultural understanding and racial tolerance through stories about pioneering AAPI figures. The play follows Tam Tran, a UCLA graduate and filmmaker, who, along with her best friend Cinthya, navigates life as an undocumented American fighting for the right to dream. When Tam is invited to testify before the Senate about the DREAM Act, she feels terrified. However, with support from her friends, teachers, and mother, she finds the courage to share her story and advocate for change.

East West Players, founded in 1965, is the nation’s longest-running Asian American theater and the largest producer of Asian American theatrical works. The organization is dedicated to raising the visibility of the Asian American experience through innovative, world-class productions, developing artists of color, and providing impactful youth education programs.
