The Source

LAPL’s The Source is a free monthly event that provides personal one-on-one assistance from a variety of service providers. This program connects any resident in need of resources to services for which they are eligible in a single centralized setting. Offerings include:

  • ​​Housing assessment through the Coordinated Entry System
  • No cost California IDs
  • Free cell phones
  • Same-day transportation to emergency shelter
  • Mental health care
  • Enrollment into Medi-Cal and CalFresh
  • Opportunity to resolve eligible traffic tickets

It is currently held at three locations:

  • Central Library: The last Tuesday of every month, from 12:30-3:00 pm, at 630 W. Fifth St. Los Angeles, 90071, 213-228-7000 
  • Exposition Park Regional Branch: The third Tuesday of every month, 12:30-3:30 pm, at 3900 S. Western Ave., Los Angeles, 90062, 323-290-3113
  • Will & Ariel Durant Branch: Fourth Thursday of every month, 12-3 p.m. 7140 W Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, 90046 323-876-2741.
