Description:

Join researcher and editor Dyanne Cano for a talk and panel discussion celebrating the release of the Lost Record Stores Map, Version 2.0, which is the second map in a series that documents shuttered independent record shops in the greater Los Angeles area, dating back to 1890s when the first phonographic records were sold commercially in downtown Los Angeles.

Dyanne will be joined by a panel of past and present LA record store owners and staff, including Ray Limón of Aron's Records and High Fidelity Records, Chris Vagnoni of Record Surplus, Naomi Park of Record Trader, and Azul Amaral and Brandon Pope of UponShop to discuss the rise, fall, and rise again of vinyl records and the subcultures that emerged from these LA shops in the 1990s and 2000s. Both maps in the Lost Record Stores - Los Angeles series will be available at the event.
