Description:

"Then & Now 30th Anniversary!" Come celebrate Platt's 30 years of service to the Woodland Hills and West Hills communities. From when we were just a promise on a sign in an empty lot, to the realization of a modern branch library, the Platt Branch has been a popular staple in the community and we want to share this landmark with you.

Featured events of the day include:

12:30 p.m. - Henna, Face Painting & Glitter Tattoos in the Teen Area
1 p.m. - Live Concert with Pianist Makiko Hirata in the Community Room
1 p.m. - Madcap Balloons' Art in the Children's Area
2 p.m. - Recognitions & Tributes with community leaders, and current and former Los Angeles Public Library Administration and staff sharing their memories and offering congratulations for this special event
3 p.m. - Cake and Refreshments in the Reading Room

You can support the Los Angeles Public Library in several ways:

Join a “Friends” group. There is a “Friends of the Library” group for most branch libraries and departments of the Central Library. Friends groups raise money for improvements to their library through memberships, used book sales and other activities. For more information click here or talk to your local librarian.

Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs.
