Description:

Join us at the Baldwin Hills Branch for our first official Teen Council meeting! We will be discussing how you can make an impact when volunteering at the library and finishing our discussion with a craft. If you are between the ages of 11-19 and are interested in volunteering, make sure to stop by!

Work with our Young Adult Librarian and your peers to:

  • Suggest purchases for the library
  • Plan library programs
  • Write an article for the Teen Blog
  • Write book reviews for the Teen Web page
  • Implement a Teens Leading Change project (for those 14+)
  • Earn community service hours (minimum of 20 hours required)

By joining our library's Teen Council, you will gain valuable 21st century skills such as leadership, critical thinking, collaboration and civic engagement.

Email our YA Librarian at bldhls@lapl.org to request an interview.
