Part 1: Business Structure For Your Business: Choose Smart from the Start

Choose smart, protect your future, and pay yourself with confidence! Unlock your business’s potential by understanding how the structure you choose impacts your taxes, personal liability, and income. In this session, you’ll explore common business structures, such as sole proprietorships, LLCs, and corporations, and learn how each one affects the way you are taxed and paid.

Whether you’re just starting out or thinking about restructuring, this workshop will help you:

  • Compare business structures and understand their tax implications
  • Learn how liability protection works and why it matters
  • Understand different ways business owners pay themselves
  • Make informed decisions that align with your long-term business goals

This session lays the foundation for the series and sets you up for smarter tax planning moving forward.

Part 2: Self-Employment and Estimated Tax Payments: Staying on Track All Year

Stay on track with self-employment taxes—estimate, pay, and thrive confidently. Once your business structure is in place, the next step is learning how to manage and pay your taxes throughout the year. This session focuses on helping self-employed individuals avoid surprises, penalties, and stress by understanding how estimated taxes work.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand self-employment taxes and what they cover
  • Calculate and make quarterly estimated tax payments
  • Manage sales and excise taxes, if applicable
  • Stay compliant with filing and withholding requirements—whether you have employees or not
  • Develop habits that keep your business financially healthy year-round

This workshop builds directly on Part 1, giving you the tools to confidently manage your tax responsibilities once your business is up and running.
