Find out what your brain is doing behind the scenes. Experience the different types of optical illusions. From spinning circles to disappearing dots, these optical illusions can trick you. Are you ready to have your mind blown and learn why this is happening? We'll be making flip books, drawing with perspective, and much more! Join us for the first of a series of STEAM sessions led by our UCLA Scientists. This program is geared for ages 5-10, but all ages are welcome.

Join a “Friends” group. There is a “Friends of the Library” group for most branch libraries and departments of the Central Library. Friends groups raise money for improvements to their library through memberships, used book sales and other activities. For more information click here or talk to your local librarian.

Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs.
