Description:
In this introductory lesson, participants will get hands-on experience with our sewing machines and learn the basics needed to begin their own projects! These include, but are not limited to: winding bobbins, threading the upper thread, using the free-arm style to sew tubular materials with straight and zigzag stitches, and using the foot controller.
Please note this lesson will not cover sewing patterns.
Instructor Krystle Mary Krueger is a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising with a degree in Fashion Design. She has worked as a designer since 2015, with her designs sold globally. After welcoming her daughter in 2018, she shifted focus to launch her children's wear line, Fashion Is Art. She is now working on a new women's wear collection set to launch this year.
The Octavia Lab is a do-it-yourself maker space located inside the Los Angeles Public Library's historic Central Library.
