Enjoy an afternoon of poetry reading with fellow writers and poetry lovers. This annual event offers poets both new and experienced, the opportunity to share their words with a welcoming audience.

Anyone is welcome to submit poetry that they would like to read at the Poetry Festival with the following guidelines:

Three poems per entrant may be submitted
Each poem should be no longer than one typed page. No handwritten poems please.
One poem from each entrant will be selected for reading.

You can submit poems in person, or via mail to the branch in an envelope marked "Attn: Poetry Festival." Please include your name, address, telephone number, email address, and a brief biography with your submission.

Join a “Friends” group. There is a “Friends of the Library” group for most branch libraries and departments of the Central Library. Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs.
