Description:

Hojalata—or the art of embossing tin—is a popular art form used to decorate homes, shops, and trees throughout Mexico. These creations are fun and meditative. We will cover the techniques for engraving or pushing out drawings, creating beautiful reliefs on heavy aluminum to create artwork.

We’ll provide all the tools and a display of inspirational ideas, as well as templates to follow for some favorite designs.

Note: This library event will not take place at the Library, but in the community room at Boyle Heights City Hall, 2130 E 1st St., a partnership with Council District 14.

This program is made possible by the LA Made Fund.
