Description:

Join us for a special event hosted by Platt’s Passports, our dedicated Teens Leading Change group, as they share folklore from different cultures and religions across the globe. There will be various craft stations that explore the traditional art forms that have helped illustrate history. Create masquerade masks, maracas, origami, accordion dragons, and mandalas!

The event will conclude with artist Margo Gravelle. Learn about the folk tales of the Korean tiger with Margo and then paint with bamboo brush and ink to create your own portrait of Horangi, the folk-art tiger of Korea.

This event is recommended for ages 4 and up, and is generously funded by the Library Foundation of Los Angeles as part of the Teens Leading Change Initiative. Platt's TLC group has received a grant to explore the cultural diversity in our community through art, dance, food, martial arts, religion, and music of the world.
