Join astronomer Casey Cooper from Griffith Observatory as she shares the inspiring story of the Harvard Women Astronomical Computers, a remarkable group of women who played a crucial role in shaping modern astronomy by meticulously cataloging thousands of stars. These women made exciting discoveries, formed lifelong friendships, and worked to include colleagues who were hard of hearing.
 
Participate in an engaging introduction to the American Sign Language (ASL) alphabet and learn some fun space-themed signs. Optional coloring and beading listening aids will be available, or you are welcome to bring your own. This event is open to children and teens and is recommended for ages 7 and up. ASL interpretation will be provided.
