Description:

A Face in the Crowd (1957) is a satirical drama tracking the rapid rise and fall of Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes (Andy Griffith), a charismatic but manipulative drifter who becomes a powerful, megalomaniacal media celebrity. Discovered in a small-town jail by radio producer Marcia Jeffries (Patricia Neal), Rhodes uses populist rhetoric to dominate television, eventually exploiting his fame to influence politics before his arrogant narcissism leads to his downfall.
