Description:

Join Dr. Gloria Arjona for an enriching evening of storytelling and traditional songs in celebration of Native American Heritage Month. Through music and narrative, this program highlights the deep cultural connections between the Indigenous peoples of Mexico and Native American communities in the U.S. Explore the shared legacies of migration, resistance, and identity, including the Aztecs' mythical journey from Aztlán—a place believed by many to be in what is now the American Southwest.

As an educator and performer, Dr. Gloria Arjona believes in the power of oral literature to convey the rich cultures of Latin America; therefore, in her lectures, she includes live music, media, poetry, and traditional attire.

This program is made possible by the LA Made Fund.
