Description:

The Active Studio is a program geared towards older adults. One of the earliest forms of print-making - the monoprint, or single-run print! Using a printing block and specialty block-printing ink, guests will create one-of-a-kind artworks by layering their heavyweight paper onto the printing block, then drawing an original design on top. When the “pull” the print up, their finished design will be printed onto the paper, and ready to hang on our drying racks. They can then “reverse” the print for a second artwork, offering a negative of their original.

This program is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
