Description:
In this staff led, dynamic workshop, participants will read poems from a selection of Black poets. Then, through a series of prompts, they'll uncover their own connection to the verse and create new "found" poems from the original work. After that, participants are encouraged to bring a visual art dimension to their poetry through collage, with the use of coloured paper, magazines, and stickers, resulting in an original mixed media artwork of images and words. At the end of the workshop, participants will be invited to read their poems to the group!
