Description:
Join us for an introduction to coding with Python! This program is geared toward children, but open to all ages.
The Python Kids' Coding Program is a program designed to help kids of ages 8-13 establish a strong foundation in the fundamentals of Python through a slower paced beginner-friendly curriculum. Students will be using platforms such as Coding for Kids and Codecademy to expand their knowledge on the rules of Python programming: starting with basic concepts like variables, data types, and loops, and gradually transitioning to more complicated ones such as functions and classes. With guidance from experienced teens, the program will include hands-on practice and friendly competitions to allow kids to immerse in an engaging yet productive learning environment.
Please bring your own laptop. This workshop is led by the Westwood Library Teen Council.
