C.G. Esperanza is an Afro-Latino artist from the South Bronx, NYC. He is an award-winning picture book illustrator and author. Most recently, he received the 2025 Caldecott Honor and Coretta Scott King illustrator awards. Charles is also a lead designer for exhibits at the Bronx Children's Museum, which has been featured in the New York Times.
