Կենտրոնական գրադարանի գլխավոր գրասենյակը Լոս Անջելեսի հանրային գրադարանի գլխավոր գրասենյակն է, որը ներառում է 72 մասնաճյուղ։ Երկրի երրորդ ամենամեծ կենտրոնական գրադարանը, որի առարկայական բաժինները պարունակում են ավելի քան 2.8 միլիոն գիրք, 5000 ամսագրային բաժանորդագրություն, ավելի քան 3 միլիոն լուսանկար, 10 միլիոն թվային մուտքի ԱՄՆ արտոնագրեր, ինչպես նաև լեզվի ուսուցման և մուլտիմեդիա նյութեր։ Կենտրոնական գրադարանն ունի ինը առարկայական բաժին, որոնք մատուցում են բազմազան տեղեկատու ծառայություններ՝ առանց դեղատոմսի, հեռախոսով, փոստով, էլեկտրոնային փոստով կամ զրուցարանով։ Նյութերը կարող են պատվիրվել քաղաքի տարբեր մասնաճյուղերում և ուղարկվել վարձակալի տեղական մասնաճյուղ։

Կենտրոնական գրադարանի շենքի ակնարկ

Պատմական Կենտրոնական գրադարանը բացվել է 1926 թվականին՝ արժանանալով բարձր գնահատականների և գրեթե մեկ դար շարունակ ողջունելով Լոս Անջելեսի բնակիչներին և այցելուներին: Ճարտարապետական գոհար համարվող շենքը հայտնի է այնպիսի խորհրդանշական առանձնահատկություններով, ինչպիսիք են տանիքի վրա գտնվող սալիկապատ բուրգը, հսկայական, որմնանկարներով զարդարված ռոտոնդան և իր ավելի ժամանակակից ատրիումի թևը, որը բացվել է 1993 թվականին:

Շենքն ունի 538,000 քառակուսի ոտնաչափ տարածք ութ հարկերում, գրեթե 89 մղոն դարակներ և ավելի քան 1400 մարդու համար նախատեսված նստատեղեր: Համակարգչային կենտրոնում և ամբողջ շենքում տեղադրված են 255 անվճար հանրային մուտքի համակարգիչներ: Ինտերնետ հասանելիությունը նույնպես ապահովվում է Wi-Fi-ի միջոցով: LAUSD Downtown Magnets ավագ դպրոցը Կենտրոնական գրադարանն օգտագործում է որպես դասարան:
