洛杉磯中央圖書館是洛杉磯公共圖書館的總部，該圖書館旗下擁有72家分館。作為全美第三大中央圖書館，其各學科部門藏書超過280萬冊，訂閱期刊5000種，照片超過300萬張，美國專利數位化資源達1000萬份，此外還擁有豐富的語言學習和多媒體資料。中央圖書館設有九個學科部門，提供多種參考諮詢服務，讀者可透過櫃檯、電話、郵件、電子郵件或線上聊天等方式取得所需資料。全市讀者均可訂購資料，並寄送至其所在分館。

中央圖書館建築概覽

歷史悠久的中央圖書館於1926年開放，廣受好評，近一個世紀以來一直熱情地歡迎洛杉磯市民和遊客。這座建築被譽為建築瑰寶，以其標誌性特徵而聞名，例如屋頂上的瓦片金字塔、巨大的、壁畫環繞的圓形大廳，以及於1993年開放的更為現代化的中庭翼樓。

該建築共有八層，總面積達53.8萬平方英尺，擁有近89英里的書架，可容納1400多人。電腦中心及整棟建築內設有255台免費公共電腦。此外，也提供Wi-Fi上網服務。洛杉磯聯合學區市中心磁石高中（LAUSD Downtown Magnets High School）將中央圖書館用作教室。
