Description:
Celebrate Earth Month and learn a new skill! This program, led by Sophia Allison, will cover basic papermaking techniques utilizing recycled paper materials found around the home such as junk mail, old homework, newspapers or a variety of almost any kind of paper.
Sophia will discuss the materials and basic equipment needed as well as demonstrate step-by-step how to create pulp and use a screen to make handmade paper. Participants will create small sheets of unique handmade paper and also "seed bombs" by adding seeds of local native plants to excess pulp. All materials will be provided.
This event is generously funded by the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.
