Description:

Join the Tuesday Afternoon Book Club for a deep dive into George Eliot's Middlemarch for three summertime sessions in June, July and August.

Find out why Middlemarch was voted the all-time number one British novel in a BBC poll of literary critics.

See if you agree with Virginia Woolf that it is "one of the few English novels written for grownup people."

Participants will receive their own paperback copy of the book, courtesy of the Friends of Silver Lake Library (FOSLL), while supplies last.

Reading Schedule:

June 17: Read the Introduction, Books One and Two
July 15: Read Books Three, Four and Five
August 19: Read Books Six, Seven and Eight (online only)

Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs.
